Kids Eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Free During Labor Day Week

This Labor Day week, Friday, August 29th, 2014 through Sunday, September 7th, 2014, children ages 12 and under will be treated to complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner, off Hyatt’s For Kids. By Kids. menu at Avenue One, Hyatt Regency Boston’s on-property restaurant. Families hitting the road for one last getaway can celebrate summer vacation with a final hurrah before ringing in the new school year.

 

With its youngest and sometimes most discerning guests in mind, Avenue One located in the heart of Boston’s downtown, provides fun, fresh and flavorful food offerings, tasted, tested, and approved by Hyatt’s young foodies. Whether enjoying a made-to-order omelet with a variety of locally sourced ingredients paired with seasonal fresh fruit, or shaken chopped salad with roasted chicken, vegetables, brown rice and a yogurt basil dressing, children ages 12 and under are guaranteed to be up for exploration of any kind, perhaps a trip to the Museum of Science, a stroll along the Freedom trail or to cheer on the home team at Fenway Park.

 

Available throughout the day, Avenue One’s For Kids. By Kids menu is a part of Hyatt’s industry-leading philosophy Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served. promoting healthy people, a healthy planet and healthy communities. All items on the For Kids. By Kids. menu were created in partnership with 14 year-old youth advocate and chef Haile Thomas, one-time chef to First Lady Michelle Obama.

 

With the purchase of an adult meal, children can indulge in seasonal specials including a three-course organic menu for children developed exclusively by renowned food pioneer and chef, Alice Waters. Menu items include:

 

  • Breakfast: Top Your Own Taco, a whole wheat tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, cheese and fun toppings; Waffle Dipping Sticks with peanut butter, maple syrup and fruit sauces.
  • Lunch: Shaken Chopped Salad with roasted chicken, vegetables, brown rice and yogurt basil dressing; Build Your Own Whole Wheat Sub Sandwich with turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese on a whole wheat mini-sub. (These offerings are also available during dinner hours).
  • Dinner: Natural Beef grilled and served with potatoes, roasted vegetables and garden salad; Vegetable and Sesame Rice Noodles with marinated tofu, corn, green beans, basil and cherry tomatoes

 

Through their research, Hyatt learned that kids today have a greater level of sophistication in their taste preferences, but also enjoy items with which they can interact. To that end, new menu offerings will present a creative way for kids to engage with their food, such as customizing their own pasta dish and “shaking” their own salad.

 

Avenue One’s menu not only focuses on children but was designed by Executive Chef Kelly Armetta in tune with seasonally-inspired, New England cuisine and features dishes such as lobster served with zucchini fennel hash, with fried organic egg and lemon thyme cream; Irish nachos featuring a mix of waffle fries, cheese sauce, bison chili and cob bacon; and New England crab cakes served with nontraditional, seasonal accompaniments such as a black pepper asparagus salad and tartar sauce.
